Borussia Dortmund stormed to a decisive 4-0 victory over a 10-man Villarreal side, ending a three-match winless streak in impressive fashion.

The Guinea striker Serhou Guirassy was the star, opening the scoring with a close-range header from a corner in added time just before the half-time break.

He doubled his tally early in the second half, pouncing after his initial penalty was parried by keeper Luiz Júnior, reacting quickest to tap in the loose ball.

Villarreal's challenge was made even harder when Juan Foyth was shown a red card for handling a certain goal strike from Karim Adeyemi, conceding the fateful penalty.

Just a short time after, Adeyemi got his goal, firing home from inside the box to make it 3-0, before Daniel Svensson sealed the comprehensive win with a powerful header in the final action of the match.

The outcome propelled Dortmund to fourth position in the table with 10 points from five matches, tied with Chelsea and Manchester City.

Villarreal, meanwhile, slumped to just above the relegation zone with a solitary one point.
